Directions to Falkirk Wood, Mavisbank Farm

Mavisbank Farm is marked on the OS 1:50,000 Map – sheet 65 (Falkirk and West Lothian). Grid Reference NS 892 778.   

Falkirk is roughly equidistant from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. Nearest motorways are the M9 (from Edinburgh) and M80 (from Glasgow).  

From Glasgow – follow M80 and then M876 into Falkirk. Follow signs into town. When you come to the one way system follow signs for Shieldhill and Slamannan. When you get the choice between Shieldhill and Slamannan – go towards Shieldhill. Follow main road over Union Canal and start to go up a big hill. You will see our sign on the left after about a third of a mile.

From Edinburgh – Come off M9 at junction 5. At roundabout go towards Falkirk (1st exit).
After 2 miles at roundabout take 1st exit towards Laurieston
At next roundabout go straight across towards Maddiston
At next roundabout go right towards Glen Village
After 2 miles, at next roundabout go left towards Shieldhill.
Follow road over Union canal and you will see our entrance after a few hundred yards on the left.

From Stirling – Take M9 towards Edinburgh until you get to junction 6.Turn right off slip-road and shortly onto main roundabout under the motorway and follow signs to Falkirk (3rd exit).
After a half mile or so, at first roundabout go left
After another few hundred yards you get to the stadium and fire-station roundabout – go straight on
At next roundabout take 2nd exit towards Laurieston
At next roundabout go straight across towards Maddiston
At next roundabout go right towards Glen Village
After 2 miles, at next roundabout go left towards Shieldhill.
Follow road over Union canal and you will see our entrance after a few hundred yards on the left.
