Boards We have boards of various lengths, widths and thickness with straight and natural edges. Species usually available include beech, oak, elm, ash, yew, lime, sycamore and larch. We often get logs with interesting character including burrs, "spalting" (showing dark threads through the wood) and "flaming" (bright flame and dark coloured sections). Our stock list includes prices and current availability.
Machining and mouldings As well as selling rough sawn boards, we also offer a specialist machining service. We can dimension boards, cut off waney edges, plane boards up to 24" wide and join boards to make wide surfaces for example for kitchens. We can also make a range of mouldings including skirtings and architraves. Machining is charged at £20 per hour plus VAT. Furniture We have designed a range of coffee tables made to measure from mixed species of wood, and fireplace surrounds, again made to measure from boards of your choice. For more complex commissions, we recommend Scotland & Dalgety, who share a workshop with us. For more details click here. Flooring We produce hardwood flooring - boards are machined on-site from local timber. Our floors have loads of interest and character, and minimum timber-miles. Decking Our decking is made of solid oak, part seasoned, with all sapwood removed. Kitchen work surfaces We can manufacture kitchen work surfaces from any wood we have in stock, and any dimensions. Firewood We have stocks of lovely dry hardwood firewood. Large bags are £3 each. A trailer load (8' x 4') is £75 including VAT and delivery in the Falkirk area. Opening times With occasional exceptions we are open Tuesday to Friday from 9.00 to 5.30 pm or dusk - whichever is earlier - but we work from home, so we're happy to see customers outside these hours, provided we're around. If you're making a special journey to see us, or want to visit outside our normal opening hours, ring (01324 623759) or e-mail us to make sure we'll be around. Payment Payment is by cheque (with cheque card) or cash, payable on collection. Where machining is required, we ask for a 10% deposit before we start work.
