We manufacture work surfaces to order from Scottish hardwood timber. Beech, elm and ash are the most popular, and surfaces can be made with finished or natural edges.
The picture shows a large beech work surface on an island unit. (The lining boards under the end of the surface are unoiled beech - the surface has been oiled, giving it a richer colour). For something a little more unusual, how about a surface in mixed woods. This sample is (left to right) oak, ash, elm, sycamore and beech.
Please note that as all our work surfaces are made to measure, lead times can be several weeks, so give us as much notice as you can. Prices and specifications Our standard thickness is 38 mm. Prices per metre length for 600 mm work surfaces are: Elm £155 These prices assume a moulded finish on the front edge only, and include sanding and oiling. There is an extra charge for natural edges, additional moulded edges, additional shaping (e.g. for a sink), and for larger surfaces over 1.5 square metres. Call us for a quote on 01324 623759, or e-mail. (All prices exclude VAT).
